Essentially, a sandwich dial includes two separate disks where the bottom layer is covered with luminescent material while the top layer has index cutouts to allow the luminescence to glow through. When looking at  sandwich dial, you’ll notice the cool stencil effect immediately. A sandwich dial can easily glow brighter than a dial with over 30 layers of printed luminous materials.

Made entirely in Germany, the all-new Maya’s multi-pieced watch case is fabricated through the CNC process, using the modern machinery; it is then finished and polished by experienced hands on site. The watch case gets a full matte look thanks to its sand-blasted finishing completing its tactical tool looks. The clear-cut proportions are an expression of both the strength and power of the case. Complying with the designation of a robust utility watch, the all-new Maya is upgraded with a sturdy, and precise 120-click ceramic timing bezel with 30 sized-grooves for easy manipulation. The trendy bi-tone blue-red bezel is one of the design highlights of this watch. What’s more, you can swap the color of the bezel and customize your look simply by removing the screws on its side. Such a high-caliber case is an essential ingredient in fabricating a strong foundation before undergoing advanced metallurgy treatment. Dievas implemented a sturdy hardening DLC treatment to the manufacturing process. More than a tactical look, the steel undergoes high-tech coating procedures to amplify the hardness of the watchcase to approximately three to four times that of 316L stainless steel. This special coating greatly improves resistance to scratch and provides extra corrosion resistance. This meticulous process is executed to every part of the watch, including its crown and case back.

Over engineering is further extended to its water-resistant capability. With a extra clear Swiss sapphire crystal on top and a robust gasket case back, the Maya is water resistant to at least 1000m/3000feet. Each watch is individually tested. It is also equipped with an automatic Helium Escapement Valve (HEV) on the crown side, allowing any serious divers to bring it down with them during saturation diving.

Another significant attribute of the Maya Mk III is its metal bracelet. For the first time, the watch now comes with an H-link style metal bracelet in matching sand-blasted finishing as the rest of the watch. The bracelet certainly solidifies the overall build of the watch. Dievas designed each link to be easily removed thanks to its screw-link design. Strapping it on through its on the go extendable clasp, the Maya wears like a perfect daily beater with its aesthetics on top of its 40mm unisex sizing. The bracelet can also be easily removed, allowing you to throw different types of straps on it.
