50 ATMOS Fumoso - Special Edition

The Squale 50 ATMOS has probably been the staple model since the 1960s making it one of Squale's most iconic dive watch to date. Many dive watch enthusiasts acknowledged that Squale has been making this tropical dive watch cases for many brands like Aquastar, Doxa and Blancpain just to name a few. Today, Squale continues to freshen up this iconic dive watch for collectors today, allowing much enjoyment in ownership of the original design, synonymous with the Squale brand.
 

In recent years there have been a few improvement in the case construction and finishing through the use of modern day machineries and technology. However, the quintessential skin-diver look from their archives stayed the same, giving watch enthusiasts much enjoyment of the retro-vibe, sturdy and reliable dive watch. This is the same as the new 2018 Square 50 ATMOS Fumoso.

The Squale 50 ATMOS Fumoso; Italian for Smoky, literally, is a Gnomon Exclusive model and made only in a small production to maintain its exclusivity.
 

The 50 ATMOS Fumoso's case dimension stays true at 41mm wide and 48mm lugs to lugs, similar to the Squale 50 Atmos Blue. Boasting a 500m water resistant without the use of the conventional Helium escapement valve due to it's unique case design. The unique case construction also meant that the 500m watch can be kept at a slim 12.5mm. The contemporary footprint means that the 50 ATMOS Fumoso is exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. Topping it off, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating for added toughness and clarity.
 

Onto the highlight of the watch, the dial. For the first time, the use of a smoky dial. The dial is a deep sea blue with tonality effect. Darkening as you go from the apex towards the edge of the dial. The dark blue dial appears almost black under different lighting conditions. The matte sandy textured dial gives a sense of quality and timelessness. Certainly a welcoming change to the single toned 50 ATMOS.

Powered by an ETA automatic caliber, ETA2824-2/SW 200, élaboré, operating at 28,800 bph (4 Hertz) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 38 hours.
