The Ball Trainmaster is powered by the Ball RR1105-C automatic movement, which is based on an ETA 2892-2, and modified to have a sub second display at 6’o clock position. The Trainmaster Standard Time Chronometer has a simple and classic dial that speaks class. The white enamel dial is a beautiful pure white, with beautiful snailing done on the sub-second dial at the bottom. At the tip of the arabic indexes are each with an embedded tritium tube.

14 X T-25 Tritium tubes

One of the unique aspects of the Ball watches are their use of tritium gas tubes. The tubes have tritium gas inside which is radioactive, emitting electrons which react with a phosphor layer that coats the inside of the tube. The result is a constant emission of light. No more charging them by external light sources like conventional SuperLuminova. The Ball Trainmaster uses 14 X T-25 tubes, one per hour marker and one per hand. Hours 1 – 11 and hands all glow green, while 12 is in orange/red for easy identification in the dark.
