Following YEMA’s exclusive Navygraf FSM model, created in collaboration with the Marine National in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Strategic Oceanic Force (FOST). The latest YEMA Navygraf FSM Bronze is above all a military-grade tool watch designed in collaboration with Marine Nationale Submarine Forces built to military personnel specifications and strict requirements. The Navygraf FSM Bronze is inspured from the first Navygraf model from the 1970s and has been designed as a timekeeping instrument for military personnel aboard FOST’s nuclear-powered submarines.

Yema Navygraf FSM Bronze

Developing reliable dive watches is certainly no stranger to YEMA, producing high-performance dive watches for the French Military’s Air Force Diver Rescuers back in the 1970s for helicopter-borne sea rescue operations. Likewise, YEMA brought us another exceedingly attractive heritage dive watch inspired by a model from the YEMA Navygraf from the early 1970s. This re-issue of the Navygraf embodies YEMA’s prestigious heritage while offering a fresh modernistic design, upholding their unwavering innovative spirit. Created on March 1st, 1972 the Strategic Oceanic Force (FOST) is the key naval component of Marine Nationale's Submarine Forces, made up of 4,000 sailors, military and civilians, who operate 4 ballistic missile nuclear submarines (SNLE), 6 nuclear attack submarines (SNA) and units providing their command and support.

As expected from a brand that stays true to their roots, the YEMA Navygraf FSM which stands for “Forces-Sous-Marines”, comes in a classic size closer to conventional dive watches of the 70s era. The bronze case measures in with a tasteful diameter of 38.5mm, a lug to lug distance of 46mm and a thickness of 11.3mm (excluding its sapphire crystal). With these dimensions, the watch evokes an appealing retro character that sits extremely comfortable on the wrist.

"Phantom" dial & "Night Mode" seconds hands
Finishing is immaculately executed to a high level of precision. The bronze case, an alloy that develops a patina over time, echoes various key mechanical elements used in submarines such as the flush blocks allowing submarines to rise to the surface, the fast flush control that ensures the safety of the submarine and the filling and emptying sections of the weapon launcher tubes. The bronze case boasts different finishes with vertical brushing, polished bevelled lugs and a circular brushed bezel.

Domed Sapphire crystal radiates the vintage charm of 70s divers

Underneath its domed oversized 3mm thick sapphire crystal, the bronze hue can be found as well in the dial's markers and hands. Even its “Navygraf” signature is matching, in effort to bring out a nice vintage warmth throughout, while the black dial is reminiscent of FOST's nuclear submarines' hulls. The “FORCES SOUS-MARINES” curved letters at 6 o'clock and the indexes in the shape of "exclamation points" are inspired by the 1970s Navygraf vintage model. As a proper tool watch goes, the hands, dial and bezel markers are treated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® C1 so as to offer perfect readability in low light conditions. Finally, the fine red tip of the seconds hand brings a touch of colour that is both elegant and functional.

Flipping the watch over, the YEMA Navygraf FSM Bronze is powered by the second-generation in-house Caliber YEMA2000 automatic movement with “no date” comlplication, a stepped-up variation of the MBP1000 Caliber. This magnificent movement yields slightly enhanced precision and durability with optimized components, giving the movement a healthy power reserve of approximately 42 hours. This 29 jewel movement beats at a rate of 28,800 beats per hour with thorough accuracy checks by YEMA watchmakers. On top of that, movement is gorgeously decorated with stripes and stunning perlage finishing that reflects on their fine craft in producing an in-house movement.

Super-LumiNova offers perfect readability in low light conditions

The Navygraf FSM Bronze has been designed in collaboration with Marine Nationale in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Strategic Oceanic Force (FOST). Equipped with our In-house Caliber YEMA2000, the Navygraf FSM Bronze takes inspiration from the iconic Navygraf Heritage and the Navygraf II dating from the mid-1970s and has been designed as a precise timekeeping instrument for military personnel aboard FOST’s nuclear-powered submarines. Surely, the YEMA Navygraf FSM Bronze presents a captivating design that will surely find a place in any watch collection.
