Designed from scratch, the Alpina takes on a different design from their current lineup, but mainly still reminiscent of the quirky cushion-shaped case watches from the late 70s. This updated release downsizes the silhouette into a highly wearable 39mm width by 40.5mm length with an easy wearing 11.5mm profile. Featuring an ultra-compact 40.5mm tip-to-tip span the case sits flat and secure delivering exceptional comfort across a wide variety of wrists.

Although it carries much of the same spirit of the 2009 original Seastrong design, the new Alpiner Extreme is an heavily upgraded 3-part case design. Made out of 316L stainless steel, the case distills a distinctive structure while being sharp-looking and feel altogether in a wearable package. Together with its multi-finishing that often punches way above Alpina's price-point, the overall look is conspicuously multi-layered, faceted with an ultra-modern look in addition to the brand's spirit in which resonates with the integrated sports watch theme.

Brushed and polished stainless steel 3-part case

The crisply satined and polished bezel features six emblazoned screws with a mountainous triangular motif in honor of Alpina's alpine heritage. To finish up, the case is fitted with a screw-down crown with rubberized knurling to allow easy operation even with wet hands or heavy mountaineering gloves. The crown is then flanged with a bold looking crown-guard in which are balanced off on the other side of the case with the additional slab at 9 o'clock. Boasting a robust 200m water resistance rating this dynamic housing ensures reliable protection against the elements whether scaling freezing mountain slopes or navigating aquatic adventures.

Underneath the sapphire crystal belies a textured dial surface, completed with a negative relief repeating triangular pattern that lends dynamic visual depth to the design. Powering the timepiece is the internal Alpina caliber AL-525 automatic movement, running at a high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour across 26 jewels. Alpina highlights the modern integrated aesthetic of the Alpiner Extreme by equipping it with an integrated black textured rubber strap. Built to handle extreme conditions this black rubber strap resists cold environments high impact shocks and harmful UV rays while working alongside the rubber clad screwed crown to ensure a firm grip even when wearing heavy gloves. Engineered for both high impact outdoor performance and smooth daily wear the strap fastens securely via a double push button folding buckle.
