Ever since its inception, the name MIDO - from Spanish «Yo mido» (i.e. «I measure») - became synonymous with quality innovation and evergreen designs. Seventy-five years after launching its inaugural Ocean Star, MIDO unveiled a special-edition series, in a nod to this epochal collection famed for reliable water-resistance since the 1940s.
With each single piece from this collection designed with a contemporary vibe, Mido injected further zest to its watchmaking heritage in the form of the Ocean Star M026.830.17.421.00.

Mido Ocean Star Tribute Gradient Red Ref. M026.830.17.421.00 |
The Ocean Star Tribute is aligned to present-day tastes with a 40.5mm diameter case and thickness of 13.4mm. The timepiece boasts a veracious and solid design, typical of dive watches since the 60s’ prevalence of recreational diving. Furthermore, this watch has a lug width of 21.0mm with Ocean Star’s trademark straight lugs mid-case design and a dose of high polish on all sides to allude to the look of the 60s tool-watch of the 60s look. To boot, the watch’s top-notch finish makes this piece an absolute luxury knockout.
The bezel features a classic black tone and rotates at 60 clicks crisply in an anti-clockwise direction to ensure the wearer’s safety while underwater. The block-shaped hour markers assume a presence of their own on the unique smokey red dial, with hash markers in-between for a more precise reading. The Superluminova® indexes and hands serve a legible glow-in-the-dark function when the wearer decides to go underwater.
