Debuted in 1957, a leading American watch manufacturer at that time research into producing an electric watch. Hamilton, at that time, revealed a precedent watch design that sets forth as avant-garde and chic with their new calibers that were developed. Remember, during this period was the golden era of slim dress watch case design that goes by a round case that its width measures from 33mm at 38mm at top. At that period, Hamilton decided to do otherwise.

Hamilton unveils the Ventura collection- an asymmetrical triangle case known as a "boomerang" case, designed by an American industrial designer, Richard Arbib.

The design's definitions go well with much daring, pioneering, and unique attributes, that even the King of Rock' n' Roll liked his Ventura so much he wore it in his movie, Blue Hawaii of 1961. Elvis Presley also purchased more of them for his family members. His affection for the watch was so well-documented that the Ventura eventually became known as the 'Elvis watch.' The watch heads in a parallel manner with the 20th-century music and fashion style where Rock and Roll were born, along with leather jackets, denim jeans, and sculpted hairstyles that became "the uniform of youth."

However, the Ventura lineage was short with the production of only seven years, but collectors and fans were awe-struck as they were still after these "Elvis" watches. Therefore, Hamilton brought back its collection in 1988 and remained in production until today.

Alright, before we want to get into the Ventura Elvis80 Blackout Automatic Ref. H24585331, there was the worth-it storyline that sealed the Ventura as the true "futuristic," yet "rebellious" watch of all time.

PVD black "boomerang" case

As we all know, Hamilton has close-ties with our favorite Hollywood industry, and the movie Giant could not get enough of Ventura's mantra. Its appearance in Blue Hawaii by Elvis was it's second in a movie, as the first being the Frogman worn by Robert Wagner in The Frogmen from 1951. From there, going back to the year 1997, the Ventura appeared in the legacy of a science fiction action film that is known as the one and only; Men In Black. Further, the Ventura became the official timepiece of Men in Black agents all over the world, from the wrist of Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, to the most recent Agent M in Men in Black: International played by Tessa Thompson.

Some almost 60 years from the time it debuted in Blue Hawaii, The King of Rock and Roll gets his line to celebrate the King's 80th birthday. Behold, the Ventura Elvis80 Blackout Automatic Ref. H24585331.

The Ventura's innovative case silhouettes stay faithful to its original, featuring a full PVD black "boomerang" case shape that measures 42.5mm wide and 44.6mm from the top down. The triangle case provides the wearer comfort with these dimensions, including the legless design, allowing the strap to flows out of the case seamlessly. Since it bears an unusual case shape, the domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings specially molded out to fit perfectly with the case. The Ventura features 50m water-resistant, which seems fitting. Besides, it was supposed to be able to go to Space and rock on stages, as opposed to the aquatic expedition.

Special customized sapphire crystal to fit case

Underneath the crystal, one gets applied metallic markers with a framed date display. Time-telling manner stays classic with a handset with Hamilton's signature orange color-tone on its second hand, which corresponds to the first 15 minutes hash marks. Further, Luminous was done so on the handset, 12, 3, and 6 o'clock markers for nighttime reading.

Underneath the open case back exhibits Hamilton's proprietary movement, the Hamilton caliber H-10- an automatic movement with modification of the ETA caliber C07.611. The main upgrade on this 25 jewels Swiss-made movement is the bi-directional winding system by the rotor, and the power reserve pumped up to 80 hours as compared to the usual 38 hours. Date adjustment and hackable functionality to stop the movement when the crown pulled for a precise time setting. With all this said, Hamilton truly is the few that can produce such movement upgrade on a large scale and further being well priced.

Hamilton paired the Hamilton Ventura with a 20mm integrated black rubber strap that has a sleek design from the front to the back, strapping it up with its signed "H" logo tang buckle. That makes the Ventura ever-so sporty along with some futuristic look.

SuperLuminova for Superb Glow In Dark

Summing things up, Hamilton the Ventura Elvis80 Blackout Automatic Ref. H24585331 uses a unique combination of interface design with a touch of its heritage, to create an innovative and chic timepiece. It became so identifiable when one mention the "Men In Black" watch, or the "Elvis" one. Just like the King's contemporary fusion of music genres and styles that causes a "Big Bang" for what known as Rock and Roll, Hamilton has the same coolness on the creative combination of a watch DNA that is oh-so-theirs until today and many more years to come for the Ventura.
