Founded in 2017, ATOWAK initially emerged as a watch manufacturer, specializing in aiding microbrands in the creation of mechanical watches. With a decade of experience in watch design and development within the mechanical watch industry, ATOWAK mastered a flexible chain of watch components—from movements and cases to straps, dials, hands, and various accessories. This expertise laid the foundation for crafting truly distinctive timepieces.

The origin of "ATOWAK" finds inspiration in the Caesar Cipher, a simple encryption method. In this encryption, each letter of the word is replaced by another letter several positions down. "ATOWAK" itself is a Caesar Cipher for the word "UNIQUE" when shifted by 6 letters.

Having honed years of technological innovation, ATOWAK proudly introduced its inaugural 4-arm wandering hour timepiece, the ETTORE series, in 2020. This release garnered widespread acclaim from watch enthusiasts globally. The ETTORE series not only showcases technological prowess but also democratizes access to the intricate designs once exclusive to high-end luxury watches, offering them at an affordable price.

Devoted to the mantra of "Redefining Aesthetics at the Wrist," ATOWAK aims to set new standards in watch design and innovation. The brand possess an unyielding passion for precision machinery, where hundreds of delicate parts intricately come together. Our teams tirelessly explore countless avenues to create unique structures, overcoming every obstacle to bring forth marvelously intricate complications.

The recently introduced Tarantula draws inspiration from the ancient venomous spider sharing its name. Steeped in folklore that attributes magical powers to the Tarantula's venom, with tales of inducing endless dancing, the watch pays homage to this intriguing narrative. In a symbolic nod, the flywheel positioned at the heart of the timepiece elegantly spins and undergoes color transformations with changing light, mirroring the mythical properties ascribed to the spider's venom. This nuanced design element not only aligns with the watch's thematic roots but also introduces a captivating and dynamic feature, adding an extra layer of fascination to the Tarantula timepiece.

The Tarantula Sapphire Blue’s case made out of 316L stainless steel, measuring a case width of 42mm, lugs-to-lugs of 49mm, and only 13.5mm in height. The whole case doesn’t feel overwhelming on the wrist as compared to many other steampunk designed timepieces in its market.

316L Stainless Steel with Scratch-resistant Sapphire Crystal
Derived from the nimbleness of spiders, the Tarantula's case design exemplifies a remarkable balance of slimness and elegance while maintaining a commitment to superior quality. Functioning as a satellite hour wheel structure timepiece, the watch effortlessly complements wrists of various sizes, demanding excellence in both design and manufacturing precision.

The case is adorned with a combination of satin and mirror-polished finishes, exhibiting stepped detailing at the sides and graceful bends on the top and bottom, harmonizing seamlessly with its strap. In the pursuit of optimum comfort and an elegantly curved case profile, the casing is meticulously assembled from three layers of hand-polished stainless steel components. Each component seamlessly integrates to craft the perfect curved case, undergoing an intricate process involving 20 rounds of hand-polishing to achieve an impeccable display of craftsmanship.

Beneath its gracefully domed sapphire crystal, the true marvel of the watch unfolds. The black dial is a masterpiece composed of 3D printed copper, featuring a hollow honeycomb layer and a captivating hollow 240° cover. At the heart of this intricate dial lies the satellite hours layout, a signature feature found in many distinctive timepieces. The dynamic minute scale, accompanied by sleek Arabic numerals, injects a sporty and contemporary persona into the overall aesthetic, firmly establishing the watch as a visually captivating and dynamic timepiece.

Swiss LumiNova Glows In The Dark
The Tarantula timepiece employs a sophisticated iteration of the fundamental satellite hours complication. Each of the three centrally mounted satellite arms integrates a revolving block to showcase the current numerical hour, introducing a complex and innovative element to the timekeeping mechanism. This intricacy not only elevates the watch's functionality but also enhances its visual appeal, contributing to the distinct and captivating character of the Tarantula series.

In keeping with the thematic coherence, ATOWAK extends the design narrative to the satellite arms, crowning them with razor-sharp polished needle hands that bestow the watch with a distinctively edgy appearance. Positioned above the intricate mechanical details, these hands add to the overall boldness and fierceness of the timepiece.

The ATOWAK Tarantula derives its power from a significantly modified version of the well-known Miyota 9039 automatic movement. While sharing much of its architecture with the commonplace Miyota 9015, the 9039 nestled within the watch is remarkably cost-effective for a timepiece with such intricate complications. This affordability, coupled with its reliance on established and widely recognized movement components, suggests that the Cobra should be comparatively straightforward and cost-effective to service over time, especially when contrasted with its in-house exotic counterparts.

MIYOTA 9039 Modified with 38 Power Reserve
These exotic enhancements, the performance of the timepiece remains largely consistent with more conventional Miyota 9039 movements. This includes a 38-hour power reserve and a beat rate of 28,800 bph, highlighting a balance between innovative design features and reliable functionality in line with industry standards.

The Tarantula comes equipped with a revolutionary NBR rubber strap that redefines the wearing experience. Crafted from high-quality nitrile rubber, this strap boasts exceptional softness and durability, accompanied by remarkable waterproof and antibacterial capabilities. The lightweight and refined design, combined with the comfort offered by the rubber strap, transforms the watch into an ideal accessory for any occasion. It seamlessly merges practicality with elegance, ensuring a versatile and enjoyable wristwear option for diverse settings.

With a truly spectacular complication seamlessly integrated into its futuristic serpentine design, the ATOWAK Tarantula Sapphire Blue - Ltd Ed 500pcs stands out as a testament to the arrival of affordable exotic complications in the watchmaking industry. The marriage of innovative design and a remarkably modest price point makes this timepiece a compelling example of accessibility in high-end complications. Limited to 500 pieces, the watch not only pushes boundaries in terms of its captivating aesthetics but also challenges conventional notions about the attainability of sophisticated horological features, marking a noteworthy milestone in the era of affordable luxury timepieces.
