The new Hamilton Khaki Aviation X-wind looks to innovate and build on the aviation military pedigree, precisely like those Type-B face and spec watch produced specifically for use by navigators during the 40s and 50s, while coincidently their field watch dates back even earlier during World War 2 in the 1940s. Measuring at 44mm wide, 54mm lug to lug and 15.6mm in height, the satin brushed finished 316L is contrasted by fine edges of polished steel. Further, at 44mm, the Khaki Aviation X-Wind is 100m water-resistant and wears exceptionally well and on most men.

Featuring a drift-angle calculator

Protected with crown guards to ensure durability, the usual crown is shifted to the left side of the case, balanced by two additional knobs on the right. These extra controls are the key to Hamilton's pioneering drift angle calculator — the first of its kind in a wristwatch. Pilots traditionally need to compute drift angle, which is the correction required to counter crosswinds and maintain a straight flight path. The X-Wind integrates this aviation tool directly into its design. The system works through two layered rotating scales: an inner white ring, visible through a small hole on the blue ring, and a blue external ring. The inner white ring is controlled by the 2 o'clock knob, while the blue upper ring is adjusted via the 4 o'clock knob. Held together by a steel bezel with degree markings for static references, by alligning these rings according to flight parameters such as wind direction, airspeed, and course, the wearer can calculate the drift angle — the degree to which the aircraft's heading must be corrected to stay on course. This unique combination of crowns, rings, and scales transforms the watch from a timekeeping device into a practical navigation instrument, offering pilots an on-the-wrist solution for real-time wind correction.

Protected by the double antireflective coating sapphire crystal is a clear blue chronograph sub dials at the 12 and 6'oclock. Sitted at the 3 is the running second sub-dial whilst the day-date window is present at the 9 surrounded by "Hamilton" "Khaki Automatic X Wind" seamlessly. The inclusion of Arabic numerals matched with dot-markers and all syringe hands present coated in Super-LumiNova allows for great visibility even in poor lighting conditions.
