The Damasko Dsub10 was the first dive watch introduced by Damasko and made exclusive to Gnomon Watches. Like other Damasko collection, the Dsub10 is made in-house by Damasko. The Dsub10 is the first of many watches which we will discuss more in depth.

The Dsub10's watch case is made in-house by Damasko and is the first watch to be using what Damasko calls "Deutscher U-Boat-Stahl" which translates to Germany Submarine Steel. The U-Boat steel is a high strength alloy steel and used extensively in the construction of German submarines and navy ships. The U-Boat steel also offers significant corrosion resistance compared to 316L stainless steel. The combination of the steel's properties make this the perfect material for a dive watch. And for those who are asking, YES, the bezel, caseback and crown are also machined from the same U-Boat steel.

Damasko DSub10

Another first is the unidirectional dive bezel that uses 3 ceramic ball bearings ratcheting system, ensures that the bezel clicks into the 60 clicks positively with 0 play left or right. This is probably one of the best dive watch bezel system available in the market.

The black bezel insert is also treated with Damest for added strength and scratch resistance. Another unique characteristic of the unique steel has to be the color of the steel. The dark titanium grey color gives the watch a utilitarian, no-nonsense attitude.

In-house precision engineered German Submarine Steel case

The newly design 300m water resistant stainless steel case measure 42mm case without the crown, has a lug to lug length of 49.9mm, and a height of about 12.6mm, with a lug width of 22mm. The curved lugs help in the ergonomics of the case making it extremely comfortable on all wrist sizes. A double domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inside ensures maximum readability regardless of lighting conditions. And for those who love strap swapping, the Dsub10 has drilled through lugs for easy springbar removal.

Crown is also equipped with Damasko's patented lubrication cell which ensures a smooth action and lubricates the shaft and the gasket. The tube of the crown is according to industrial engineering, screwed into the case. Almost every other watch manufacturer makes use of an inferior press fit tube.

All gaskets of the new crown system are made of Viton™, a material with high chemical and mechanical resistance which is superior to every other gasket material (Nitril etc.) currently used in wrist watches.

SuperLuminova C1 glows in the dark

The watch is powered by the inhouse movement, A26-2, which features 42 hours power reserve, 20 ruby bearings, anti-magnetic properties by DIN 8309 standards, and shock-proofing by DIN8308 standards. All whilst beating at 28,800bph or 4Hz.

Next the dial, is a whole new dial design. The Damasko Dsub10 shares the same design language as the DA/DC collection but with a new breathe of fresh air. The same matte black dial and crosshair that is now synonymous with Damasko, with a different plot design. A small date aperture at 4.30 with custom made date display in the iconic Damasko yellow means that the date can still be displayed horizontally. Instantly recognizable as a Damasko.

Utilitarian, no-nonsense design

The Damasko Dsub10 Watch comes with 2 years international warranty, manual and a new Damasko travel case.

Every Damasko watch features an important technical detail which is not visible at first sight but has a major influence on its accuracy under harsh conditions. The Dsub10 being the second Damasko diver, upgrading upon the previous Dsub1 makes this extremely collectible in years to come. A watch that sets the bar a notch higher for other dive watch manufacturer. If you are in the market for the ultimate dive watch that is understated and yet charming in a technical way, this is the watch worth considering.
