Orient has unveiled their latest iteration of their Classic line, and within clads the Orient Star Mechanical Classic Sky Blue Ref. RE-AT0203L. Introducing a soft pastel blue dial to the Mechanical Classic lineup, this new edition is set to amaze all watch enthusiasts who cherish good watchmaking. Being part of the collection, this exquisite timepiece exhibits an evergreen aesthetic that delivers elegance and sophistication to suit any occasion. 


Off the bat, a high level of detail is reflected in the tastefully finished case of the Orient Star Mechanical Contemporary. The polished stainless steel case receives a highly finished bevelled edge that extends from one end of the lug to another, adding a touch of depth and luxurious character to the case.

This high polish finish contrasts especially well with the satin brushed finish on the side of the case. Having a case diameter of 40.4mm, and a lug to lug distance of 46.6mm, the watch has a delicate size that fits most wrist sizes. Moreover, the lugs curve downwards gently, allowing the watch to hug the wrist comfortably. The watch is water resistant up to 50m (5 bar), making it perfect for everyday use.

Without a doubt, the star of the show is the magnificent dial of the Orient Star. Underneath the glass crystal, the semi-skeleton design from the series incorporates design concept of “gentle sunlight”, and the dial colours are inspired by the gentle light of the sun shining upon plants, forests, and water. As for this particular green dial, we knew Orient Star made this particular one based off the latter. The dial further has a pie-pan element, in which is curved in an elegant manner.

The skeletonized cut-out at the 9 o’clock position displays the beating heart of the movement, viewing the moving parts of the movement is simply a joy to watch. o match the beautiful dial, the spade-shaped hands, metallic rim of the skeletonized cut-out which matches its applied markers at cardinal points. The remaining hour markers are embossed in Roman numerals and power reserve indicator are finished in matching silver tone. The intricately finished indices adds another dimension to the dial, making it truly sophisticated and elegant. 

Displaying through the see-through case back lies, the Orient in-house caliber F6R42 automatic movement is Orient’s premium line of movements, featuring a substantial power reserve of 50 hours. This 22 jewel movement has a 3 Hz beat rate of 21,600 beats per hour and has an accuracy tolerance of +25 to -15 seconds a day. The Caliber F6R42 also holds hand-winding and hacking capabilities. To top it off, the movement is finished with beautiful perlage circular graining and vertical stripes on the rotor. 

The Orient Star Mechanical Classic Sky Blue Ref. RE-AT0203L comes on a 20mm blue leather strap that has a smooth surface and matching stitchings, complimenting the ritziness of the case. The strap is fitted with a depolyant clasp to hold the watch securely on the wrist.
