Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic Review

The Alpiner Extreme Automatic collection offers three different colors for the dial. It is available in Alpiner Extreme Automatic Blue, Alpiner Extreme Automatic Black, and Alpiner Extreme Automatic Grey.

Now that you know what to expect from the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic, let’s take a closer look at each part of the watch in the following text.

Rugged Case Construction

In this collection, Alpina decided to take a different approach from the previous line. Yet, the brand still maintains the quirky cushion-shaped case watches from the late 70s. Measured 41mm by 42.5mm and 11.5mm thick, the watch makes a strong presence on the wrist, especially considering its rugged construction.

Despite it resembles the 2009 original Seastrong design, this Alpina Extreme Automatic is a heavily upgraded 3-part case design. Made out of 316L stainless steel, the case distills a distinctive structure while being sharp-looking and feels altogether in a wearable package.

Overall, the watch boasts an ultra-modern look and is conspicuously multi-layered. The representation of this Alpina Extreme Automatic does radiate the brand’s spirit with the integrated sports watch theme.

Keeping the case intact is a bezel with a strong presence. The crisply satined and polished bezel features six emblazoned screws with a mountainous triangular motif in honor of Alpina’s alpine heritage – which further elevates the bold appearance.

Protruding at the right side of the case is a screw-down crown with rubberized knurling to allow easy operation even with wet hands or heavy mountaineering gloves. Further, the crown is protected with a bold-looking crown guard. To balance both sides, the left side features an additional slab at 9’o clock.

Distinctive Dial and Detail

The Alpina Extreme Automatic boasts an exquisite design that effortlessly merges elegance and robustness. The dial itself is a work of art with a textured surface of a sharply stamped repeating triangular pattern – resulting in an almost architectural three-dimensionality to the design.

Available in three different colors, the sunburst dial creates a dazzling array of highlights and shadows in different lighting conditions. To add practicality, the dial features a date window at the 3 o’clock position.

As for the watch hands and markers, it features a classic design to give a sense of refinement on the wrist, especially when paired with the faceted applied indices and the brand’s signature red triangular seconds hand counterweight.

Alpina also ensured great legibility in the low-light environment. The markers have been filled with white luminous material across the handset and indices, resulting in an instantly legible design even in darkness.

Integrated Bracelet

Topping the rugged appearance, the Alpina Extreme Automatic is paired with an integrated stainless steel bracelet. This choice further elevates the sports watch design.
