Mido's Multifort story begins in the 1930s, inspired by the architecture of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge — a symbol of strength and endurance that perfectly mirrored the watch's robust nature. The original Multifort was waterproof, antimagnetic, and shock-resistant, and in 1935, Mido elevated its innovation with the Multifort Automatic, combining these resilient traits with an automatic movement. Over the decades, the collection built a reputation for exceptional longevity, standing the test of time for more than 85 years.
In 1973, Mido introduced the Multifort TV collection, rooted in the bold and expressive design language of the 1970s, a golden era for luxury sports watches. With its distinctive rounded-square "TV" case profile, the watch perfectly captured the spirit of the decade, even arriving ahead of some of the most famous integrated sports watches we know today. Now, expanding the lineup once again, Mido elevates the concept with the new Multifort TV Chronograph, blending vintage charm with modern performance in a striking and contemporary package.

Mido Multifort TV Chronograph Blue Ref. M049.527.11.041.00 |
Introducing the new Mido Multifort TV Chronograph Blue, crafted in stainless steel with a 42mm diameter, 49.8mm lug-to-lug, and 14.3mm thickness. Its polished oblong case and bezel contrast beautifully with the satin-finished top surface and sides, adding a refined touch to its bold profile. The fixed bezel is further enhanced by a luminous pip at 12 o'clock, injecting a hint of sportiness into the design.
The case design proudly channels the spirit of the 1970s, echoing the charm of vintage "TV" shaped watches that once brought a sense of lifestyle, colour, and fun to a watch industry often dominated by conservative styles. This distinctive silhouette not only makes a bold statement on the wrist but also carries a nostalgic nod to an era when shapes and textures were explored with fearless creativity. The polished chronograph pushers add a refined gleam, while the screw-down crown ensures dependable functionality. With its solid construction and 100m water resistance, the Multifort TV Chronograph Blue stands as a seamless blend of retro flair and modern durability.
A flat sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective treatment safeguards a captivating fumé dial that transitions from serene blue at the center to black at the edges. This smoky gradient effect lends remarkable depth, drawing the eye to its ever-changing tones. Enhancing its contemporary silhouette, the dial features a horizontal brushed finish that plays with light, shifting between lighter and darker shades for a truly dynamic presence on the wrist.

Chronograph function with power reserve up to 60 hours |
Positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock is the date display, which can be adjusted separately using a pin stylus inserted into a pinhole located on the side of the case, seamlessly integrated into the overall design. The dial combines round and rectangular markers with sleek rectangular hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in low light. Encircling the dial, a deep blue tachymeter scale adds a sporty edge that perfectly balances the watch's refined character. The classic chronograph layout is thoughtfully arranged, featuring a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, and running seconds at 9 o'clock, ensuring both functionality and visual harmony.
Peering through the see through caseback, you will discover the heart of the watch, the Caliber 60 based on the robust ETA A05.H31. This movement impresses with a remarkable 60 hour power reserve, allowing you to wear the watch without worry for days. With 27 jewels meticulously placed to reduce friction and ensure smooth operation, it beats at a lively 28,800 vibrations per hour at 4Hz. Adding a modern twist, MIDO has equipped it with the revolutionary Nivachron balance spring, boosting precision and offering exceptional resistance against magnetic fields.
