Although titanium is already a very robust metal in itself, Citizen was able to make the material even stronger. The brand produced a kind of titanium surface coating called Duratect to bolster the strength of titanium, making it five times more resilient than stainless steel while still keeping its lightweight build. Duratect served as a major milestone for the brand, as Citizen could produce new timepieces with unrivaled durability. Thus, Citizen decided to name this new coating "Super Titanium". With this latest release, Citizen introduces a special aesthetic evolution by crafting the housing in Super Titanium treated with Duratect Amber Yellow, a newly developed surface hardening execution that layers high level scratch resistance with a rich, elegant amber gold tone.

It is this innovative Super Titanium material that forms the perfectly proportioned 38.3mm case, featuring a compact 45.3mm lug to lug length and a comfortable thickness of 12.2mm, delivering an incredibly lightweight feel on the wrist. The housing presents a highly refined, classic round profile anchored by sharp, angular lugs boasting hand finished Zaratsu polishing. The deliberate contrast between satin brushed surfaces and mirror polished bevels and bezel creates a dynamic play of light across every angle of the case. Designed for seamless versatility in any setting, the timepiece provides 100m water resistance alongside a push pull crown for effortless daily operation. Completing the protective shell, a dual spherical sapphire crystal with double sided anti reflective coating ensures pristine dial legibility regardless of ambient lighting conditions.

The design concept draws inspiration from the breathtaking moment when the setting sun casts a radiant golden glow along a distant mountain ridge. Beneath the crystal, the black Tosa washi paper dial showcases a delicate kasure brushstroke effect crafted with genuine gold leaf, blending into a subtle brown gradient that evokes the warm hues of autumn. Produced traditionally in Kochi prefecture across the city of Tosa and the town of Ino, Tosa washi paper is celebrated globally for its remarkable strength despite its paper thin translucency. The enduring quality and structural integrity of this handmade material are demonstrated by its frequent selection for museum grade art restorations in Japan and around the world, making each dial a unique canvas of heritage craft.

Furthermore, the surface of the dial was meticulously hand polished to deliver its trademark high sheen and subtle depth. Classic faceted dauphine hands pair with applied baton hour indices, anchored by a prominent double baton marker at 12 o'clock to maintain perfect symmetry across the artistic display. A clean date aperture is positioned at 3 o'clock, adding a practical complication for daily wear without disrupting the harmonious proportions of the paper layout. Executed entirely in matching warm gold tones, these raised display elements reflect light across the washi paper backdrop, completing the evocative spectacle of a mountain sunset directly on the face of the watch.

High precision Eco-Drive A060 movement

Moreover, this watch also contains the high precision Eco-Drive A060 movement that has proven reliable and robust. The movement is rated by Citizen to have an accuracy of an astonishing +/- 5 seconds a year, satisfyingly aligned to every second marker on the dial as the second hand ticks into place. Being a movement fueled by natural and even artificial sources of light, no periodical battery replacement is required. Additional features that can benefit the wearer include the perpetual calendar, date display, the date early correction function, and the time difference setting function of the watch. Held in the case with a screw-in caseback signed with Citizen's prestigious eagle crest.

Citizen pairs the timepiece with a refined dark brown leather strap featuring a rich crocodile texture.
