Following the success of the 2022 DRASS Periscope model, Squale and Drass strengthen their partnership with the new DRASS S.A.V.E.R. project. This collaboration is the natural evolution of a relationship built on reliability and innovation, uniting Swiss watchmaking tradition with cutting-edge underwater technology. The S.A.V.E.R. submarine rescue system is the most advanced and versatile solution in operation—a true "Swiss Army knife" for underwater emergencies. It combines a Submarine Rescue Vehicle (SRV), Rescue Capsule (SRC), Ventilation System (SVS), operational ROV (up to ), and a Portable Launch & Recovery System, ready for rapid global deployment when every second counts. Used by modern naval forces like the Italian Navy, S.A.V.E.R. is more than a rescue system; it is a full underwater intervention platform built for the toughest missions.

Squale Drass S.A.V.E.R.

Squale and Drass renew their commitment with a timepiece directly inspired by the world of submarines: the Squale DRASS S.A.V.E.R., specifically designed for professionals operating in the most extreme underwater conditions. This collaboration unites two heritages: Swiss excellence in professional dive watchmaking and Italian mastery in submarine construction and deep-sea technologies.

For this crucial project, Squale chose the iconic Master case, crafted from 316L stainless  steel, measuring  in 41.5mm diameter,  49mm lug to lug, and 16mm in thickness, with a finish that expertly blends rugged brushing and polished chamfers. Now featuring a redesigned  screw-down crown with a distinctive red O ring, this timepiece guarantees quick closure control—a significant upgrade from the earlier Periscope. It also includes an essential helium escape valve and delivers robust  500m water resistance. Tested for extreme depths, it meets and exceeds the uncompromising needs of DRASS submarine professionals.

The collaboration unites two heritages

The watch's military DNA is clearly displayed in the steel BUND bezel. The BUND (short for Bundeswehr, the German armed forces) legacy involves supplying markerless bezels for specific tactical situations. This black steel insert is monodirectional, ensuring precise timing capability. Mirroring the earlier Periscope model, the S.A.V.E.R. is also equipped with an additional rubber bezel protector in distinctive yellow, which perfectly complements the DRASS S.A.V.E.R. project's signature accent colour and provides exceptional impact resistance.

Nicely protected under a flat sapphire crystal, the deep black dial is designed for maximum legibility, featuring distinctive yellow DRASS S.A.V.E.R. accents outlining the printed hour markers and hands. The hour hand is rendered in crisp white, contrasting sharply with the others. All essential indicators, including the bezel triangle at 12, are generously coated with SuperLumiNova BGW9 for superior glow in dark conditions. A white marker track on the chapter ring neatly surrounds the dial. The date window is positioned at  in yellow text against a black background. Finally, the dial achieves perfect vertical symmetry with the classic SQUALE logo at 12 balancing the "DRASS S.A.V.E.R." designation printed cleanly at 6.

Iconic Master case in brushed 316L steel

Powering the S.A.V.E.R. is the reliable automatic Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré movement. This dependable workhorse operates at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), features 26 jewels, and includes both hand-winding and hacking capabilities for precise time setting. Completing the exclusive design, the screw-in caseback is beautifully engraved with the DRASS S.A.V.E.R. designation, serving as a constant reminder of this unique and specialized collaboration.

The watch is presented on a custom 20mm black leather strap featuring contrasting yellow stitching, perfectly complemented by a steel buckle. Both the SQUALE logo and the S.A.V.E.R. designation are cleanly printed on the strap, highlighting the collaboration. As an alternative, an additional black Von Büren Pro rubber strap is also  included. Finally, drilled lug holes allow strap changes to be performed quickly and easily, further enhancing the watch's tool-ready versatility.
