Whenever the subject of aviation comes up, the name of Glycine mentioned as one of the pioneers of watchmaking for pilots and frequent travellers. Beginning in 1953, Glycine started production of the Airman, a watch that became legendary for introducing multiple time-zone watches to the market. Since then, Glycine has developed an unbroken chain of aviation watches, ranging from successively more complex world timers to unique collector's items.

Made from 316L stainless steel, The Glycine Airpilot Green Ref. GL0512 bears a modern yet with a distinctive vintage aesthetic. It's classic aviator case style measures at 41mm and 11.15mm thin for unsurpassed comfort on all wrist sizes. The slender lugs with lugs to lugs length of 53mm, help the watch to wrap around the wrist like a pair of gloves while glamouring on one's wrist.
Straight to the point as a pilot watch should be, the Airpilot has a flat sapphire crystal with layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside for added clarity under different lighting conditions. Ensuring the sun-ray dial is fully legible under any condition. The dial features applied white indices with superluminova that contrasts perfectly against the green. Hints of red can be found on the 24 hour track that run by the sides of the indices and "AUTOMATIC" at the 6. The date window is located at the 6 as well which are both counter balanced by the Glycine logo at the 12. Completed with a thin white cross hair at the centre and black lacquer hands. Glycine definitely nailed the dial on this watch. It is functional as it is aesthetic and boy is it a beauty.

Powering the Airpilot is the ever-reliable GL224 automatic movement. It is essentially based on the renowned ETA 2824-2 or Selita SW200-1. It has 25/26 jewels, beats at 28,800 BPH and has a power reserve of 38 hours. Ensuring it to be ever reliable and easily repairable. Boasting 100m of water resistance, it is good enough for everyday wear. The Airman comes with a stainless steel bracelet along with a Glycine signed buckle.
