Mido Multifort TV Big Date S01E02 Ref. M049.526.33.081.01 |
Mido initially drew its inspiration for the Multifort collection from the architecture of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. However, this new Multifort breathes new ethos within the contemporary Harbour Bridge, as the watch still draws elements from yesteryears. Offering the perfect combination of style and substance, function and aesthetics, Mido celebrates this ultra-resistant, newly visioned monument with some instantly recognizable design features. But this collection's robustness and exceptional longevity, which has been in production for the past 85 years, also define the Multifort as a creation that has stood the test of time.
Thanks to its 40mm diameter, 46.5mm lug-to-lug, and 11.8mm thickness, the stainless steel case of the Multifort TV Big Date stands as a testament to timeless design. Its polished oblong case and bezel contrast beautifully against the satin-finished top surface and sides, exuding a refined balance between sportiness and elegance. A luminous pip at 12 o'clock adds a subtle nod to its adventurous character, while the case itself recalls the charming "TV-shaped" watches of the 1970s—pieces that brought lifestyle and playfulness into a once-sober world of horology. Finished with an anthracite PVD coating that lends a sleek satin-grey tone, this new Multifort effortlessly bridges vintage charm with modern sophistication, offering a comfortable and versatile fit for most wrists.

| Big Date Aperture |
Perfect for both daily life and adrenaline-fuelled adventures, the Multifort displays beneficial information, including a prominent date complication positioned at 12 o'clock, replacing the recessed marker. Its flat sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, offers a crystal-clear view of the dial, which features a captivating retro TV Test Screen design. This special edition is distinguished by its dial embossed with the vibrant color bars seen on vintage televisions—a striking "pixel noise" that is instantly eye-catching and acts as a fantastic conversation starter, particularly for those who grew up in the 1970s and 80s. This emblematic design is further highlighted by a grey border marked with recessed indices, while the hour and minute hands and black-outlined hour plots provide engaging surface contrasts. A black and white minute rehaut lends a final sporty flourish, and white Super-LumiNova ensures effortless readability in any light conditions, essential for whatever life throws your way.
Pack within the 100m water-resistant Multifort is the calibre 80 of MIDO based on the ETA C07.611 with a total 80-hour power reserve. The Caliber 80 is considered in-house as MIDO is part of the Swatch group family, and the modified ETA CO7.621 features a Nivachoc balance spring with its frequency reduced to 21,600 Hz and an improved mainspring capacity. The time and date adjustment can be easily adjusted through its screw-down crown, flanked by crown protectors on each side. The calibre 80 inside the watch and the added big date complication make it so value-driven as it holds one of the highest-quality movements today at an exceptional price point.

This remarkable timepiece is paired with a 22mm multi-finished hex-link stainless steel bracelet in matching anthracite PVD coating, seamlessly integrated with the case to create a cohesive and durable form built for comfort and endurance. The bracelet's satin-brushed top, polished middle links, and refined sides reflect Mido's meticulous attention to detail, while the bi-fold clasp maintains a clean, uninterrupted flow along the wrist. For added versatility, Mido equips this model with quick-release spring bars, allowing effortless strap changes. As part of the Special Edition S01E02, the watch also includes two additional rubber straps in vibrant yellow and blue, offering dynamic style options to match any mood or occasion.
With the successful debut of the first episode, the Mido Multifort TV Big Date S01E02 continues the story with even greater refinement and flair. Every detail has been thoughtfully reimagined, blending retro inspiration with a modern spirit. The signature TV-shaped case returns, now enhanced with updated finishing and a renewed sense of balance, making it both distinctive and effortlessly wearable. Inside, the reliable automatic movement delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve and a bold, highly legible big date display. The S01E02 captures the essence of what made the first release a success, where nostalgic charm meets contemporary precision, crafted for those who appreciate heritage evolving with time.
