The Seiko 5 Sports "Pink Panther" – Ltd Ed Ref. SBSA321 is one of the most unique Seiko 5 re-issue design language watch among the rest. The Seiko 5 Sports "Sports Style" for the first time since its Skx days, features an open back. However in the special edition, it features a unique pink panther case back which showcases the Seiko's automatic caliber, 4R36, operating at 21,600 BPH (3 Hertz) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 24 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours. This is a major upgrade from the previous 7S26 non-hacking and winding caliber that used for the old SKX007J1. You know what, since this JDM model features the day/date display, one can self-select the day display to Japanese kanji characters, or in English.

It still holds a 100m water resistant stainless steel tonneau-shaped case now downsized for this specific edition which measures 38mm wide without the crown, a lug to lug length of only 44.2mm, and a height of about 13.4mm, with a lug width of 12.1mm. The whole dimension and case design are based off the classic SKX diver silhouette, thus moreover the lugs to lugs length mean this watch wraps around the wrist on all (small or big) wrist sizes like a glove making it extremely comfortable. Uniquely, the crown showcases a pink diamond icon, specially made for this collaboration.
 
The case back features a design of the Pink Panther hiding behind a pink wall, a memorable scene from the animation. The edges are engraved with "Limited Edition" and a serial number to indicate which piece of the limited collection it is.
 
The bezel is aluminum and has 60-minute printed markings on it, just like the original sixties Sportsmatic. It rotates buttery smooth into 120 positions has little to no free play in a clockwise direction. Sitting atop of the bezel is Seiko's Hardlex. The mixture of satin brush and Seiko high polishing on the sides can be seen on the whole watch.

This model, based on the Seiko 5 Sports SKX series, expresses the world of the animated short film "The Pink Phink." The story of the Pink Panther mischievously repainting the Little Man's house pink is incorporated into the entire watch, with the signature pink color used on the dial, bezel, and second hand. Furthermore, the dial features the footprints that led the Little Man to discover the Pink Panther, creating a playful piece.
 
Topping off the watch is its 20mm retro steel bracelet with three-fold clasp and push-button release. Its design completes the whole tribute package, while befitting its tonneau-shaped case.
 
The watch comes with an interchangeable nylon strap, which, like the dial, features the Pink Panther's paw print design. The tip of the strap is also printed with the words "WET PAINT," which appeared in the animation. This font is also used for the numbers on the bezel, creating a finish that captures the charm of the first episode in every detail.
