Orient has long been a revered name among enthusiasts of Japanese horology, maintaining a distinct presence in the watchmaking world since its origins in 1901. While the firm formally established itself as an independent company in 1950, it has spent decades crafting reliable, in house mechanical movements that embody the spirit of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Now operating under the Seiko Epson umbrella, Orient continues to balance accessibility with technical precision, offering a diverse array of timepieces that range from refined dress watches to resilient sports companions. It is a brand that remains committed to its heritage, consistently delivering the understated excellence that defines the best of the Japanese domestic market.
At the pinnacle of this legacy sits Orient Star, the brand's own luxury line which is thoughtfully divided into three categories: Classic, Sports, and Contemporary. Since its inception in 1951, when the first "true star" chronometer captured attention with its elegant dial and blued hands, Orient Star has served as a platform for significant horological ambition. From the sophisticated artistry of early dynamic models to the intricate skeleton designs of the 1990s, the collection has consistently pushed creative boundaries. Today, these timepieces carry forward a storied history that includes the development of iconic automatic divers, standing as a testament to Orient Star's enduring dedication to precision and timeless design.

| Orient Star M45 F7 Small Second Ivory Ref. RE-BS0002S |
A few years ago, Orient Star reorganized its catalogue into the M Collections, consisting of three distinct lines named after celestial wonders documented by French astronomer Charles Messier. These include the M34 dive watches, the contemporary M42 inspired by the Orion Nebula, and the M45 series, which takes its name from the Pleiades star cluster—known as Subaru in Japan. With the introduction of the new Orient Star Mechanical M45 F7 Small Second Ivory, the brand presents a remarkably balanced and uncluttered display, ensuring that every essential detail remains beautifully legible for the discerning wearer.
The Orient Star M45 F7 is housed in a robust SUS316L stainless steel case measuring 39mm in width, 11.7mm in thickness, and 45.7mm lug-to-lug, offering the compact, refined fit that modern enthusiasts seek. Featuring a reliable push-pull crown and 30m of water resistance, it is perfectly suited for sophisticated daily wear. The case is finished to an exceptional standard, with high-polish accents across the bezel and caseback that create a brilliant luster, lending the timepiece an undeniable sense of elegance and class.

| Caliber F7H44 with power reserve indicator |
Beneath the anti-reflective, dual-curved sapphire crystal lies an ethereal dial reminiscent of the vast depths of the cosmos. Finished in a matte ivory with a nuanced, grained texture, the dial is defined by elegantly finished leaf hands, graceful Roman numerals, and a precise railway minute track. While the aesthetic feels familiar, it remains strikingly fresh through a deliberate reduction of complexity. By omitting the date window, the watch achieves a perfect, harmonious symmetry. The layout centers on the hour and minute hands, complemented by a discreet power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock—a signature of Orient Star since the 1990s—and a beautifully recessed small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock.
Powering the watch is the in house caliber F7H44, an automatic movement exclusive to the Orient Star line. Visible through the exhibition caseback, this top tier caliber beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a reliable 50 hour power reserve across its 24 jewels. The movement is finished with refined Geneva stripes and chamfered edges, showcasing Orient's unwavering attention to detail in every aspect of the design. As a special anniversary edition, the exhibition caseback is also adorned with unique commemorative engraving and individual serial numbering.

As a landmark release, this timepiece stands as a curated celebration of that evolution, distilling years of technical ambition into a single, breathtaking silhouette.
