Powered by a 4R36 calibre, this timepiece has an automatic movement with manual winding capacity and is crafted with 24 jewels. To increase the precision of time-setting, this movement takes after the Swiss ETA 2824-2 with a second hand stop function. Furthermore, protected by a flat Hardlex crystal, this watch stands out with its excellent functionality and accuracy.
Be pleasantly surprised by the slim 40mm case of the “Sports Style” Blue which has a thickness of only 11.5mm, 2mm thinner than past “Diver” Seiko 5 models. As such, the slight cut-ins where the watch case meets the wrist are greatly dramatized due to its significantly slimmer profile.

What sets this watch apart is its lack of a dive bezel which usually characterises Seiko 5 timepieces, gracing the “Sports Style” Blue with a stylish minimalistic look. Its slim bezel-less case results in a perfectly-fitting watch, without the bulkiness of a typical diver. Despite not having a bezel, this watch does not compromise on the depth of its design by retaining a heavy chamfered rehaut, the trademark of a Seiko 5 timepiece.
Seiko has once again outdone itself by bringing its newest Seiko 5 timepiece to the next level. Watch as the “Sports Style” Blue flaunts metal trims around its hour markers and satin-finished hands atop its uncluttered sunburst blue dial. Its applied markers and handset are also painted with Lumibrite that glows a brilliant green in the dark. Leaving no space for any distractions, the dial only sports essential texts such as the Seiko brand logo which is expertly applied just like its hour indexes, elevating the classy look of this watch.

With a neat day and date window at 3 o’clock, this modern Seiko 5 timepiece boasts excellent readability courtesy of its simple design while still maintaining a tool watch look. What’s more? Admire the see-through screwed-down case back of the “Sports Style” Blue which allows for a 100m water resistance and trace the additional polished bevel line which separates this watch’s satin-brushed top surface from its curved side profile, lavishing it with an expensively elegant look.
The brilliant stainless steel case of the “Sports Style” Blue is complemented by a metal bracelet of the same material featuring a three-fold clasp and a push button release. This bracelet matches the watch case flawlessly, gracing this timepiece with an athletic look that is suitable for any occasion from a grand formal event to a fun day in the pool.

While previous Seiko 5 Sports watches fitted with diver-oriented bezels, the “Sports Style” Blue is a watch that defies the norms of the typical diver. Poised between a dress watch design and a dive watch look, this timepiece goes bezel-less to bare the essence of its timeless style. This watch is also the result of the renowned Japanese watchmaker’s careful consideration of customer feedback and desire for a more everyday timepiece that does not necessarily have to serve as a dive watch. The new Seiko 5 “Sports Style” Blue, your reliable diving companion that steals the spotlight from the beauty of the ocean with the majestic depths of its trendy design.
