Founded in 2001 by Italo Fontana, U-Boat has transformed into a stylish brand famed for its precision and quality. Skilled watchmakers based in Italy meticulously fashion every U-Boat timepiece to the very minutest detail. One of the brand’s latest brainchilds is the U-Boat ROMA 45MM SILVER.

This Roma watch in silver is the epitome of Italian haute horology with its silver craftsmanship and ingenious design. Powered by a Swiss Sellita automatic mechanical movement tailored to U-BOAT specifications and containing a skeletonized rotor, this 26-jeweled watch has a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, as well as a solid power reserve of 44 hours.

The pure aged 925 silver case has a diameter of 45mm and is delicately crafted with lateral chisellings featuring the facade of St. Peter’s Basilica on one side and the Colosseum on the other. The use of 925 silver allows the watch to aged gracefully and gain personality that are uniquely to its wearer. Think of this as a great alternative to our bronze cased watches.

Similarly, the bezel is also hand-chiseled, catering to the watch’s overall personalized look. The crown cap of the watch is located on the left side of the case and emblazoned with a classic black diamond, adding to the elegance of its countenance. Turn over to the back of the watch and you would also see that it is made up of the same 925 silver that patinates like our forks, sealed with seven external screws, lasered with Rome’s symbol, the Lupa Capitolina.

Moreover, the lasered 925 silver dial showcases indexes and numbers in relief, ensuring clear reading of the time. The hands of the dial are in painted and brushed metal, adding to the overall aesthetic and readability of this timepiece. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective properties of this watch also provide for an unhindered reading of time.

Additionally, the elegant black strap is made in Italy, with a width of 20m. It is made from curated alligator leather with skate fish insert which is truly as artisanal as the watch itself. The watch also contains a handmade 925 silver buckle to crown the look of the wearer.

All in all, this bespoke selection of leathers and materials by expert craftsmen in Tuscany guarantees a durable lifespan, a personalized aging process as well as presents a fascinating combination of specs poised to appeal to both seasoned and new watch collectors.
