The Roadmaster series is a diverse collection of proper tool watches from Ball Watch that offers robust resistance technologies and exquisite designs. Following the successful launch of the celebrated three-hander Roadmaster Raffles Limited Edition, Ball Watch introduces its latest addition to the extensive Roadmaster collection, the Roadmaster Marine GMT Black Ref. DG3030B-SCJ-BK.
With a limited production of 1000 timepieces, the new Roadmaster Marine GMT Black is the company's first chronometer-certified GMT watch that boasts a travel theme, suitable for adventurous globetrotters. This watch is modelled after the classic sports watch with a bi-color bezel and an extra hour hand display. What sets this timepiece apart from other sports watches is the patented quick-set mechanism in its GMT setting. The Marine GMT Black features professional specifications including Tritium luminous and anti-magnetism that Ball Watches are known for.

This timepiece has a streamlined multi-finished case that measures 40mm in width with a height of just 14mm which graces this watch with a contemporary diver vibe. It features a blue-red bezel which is characteristic of GMT sports watches, a day-to-date automatic movement and micro-gas tubes. However, rather than sticking to the usual steel material, Ball Watches has opted for the case of this watch to be done in full titanium where its top surface gets a refined satin-brush while its case sides undergo a full polish. Furthermore, the large grooves of its bezel, which are characteristic of the Roadmaster, allows the user to grip and rotate with great ease. The 24 hour numerals are treated with Super-Luminova that give off a green glow in the dark. On the flip side, its exhibition case back is engraved with the Ball Watch logo, allowing users to admire the BALL RR1203-C mechanical movement through its clear sapphire crystal. As expected from Ball Watches, this entire timepiece is built to carry a whopping 5000Gs of shock-resistance.
Additionally, the Marine GMT Black is fixed with three crowns, each with its own specific function. The main crown located at the 3 o'clock position allows for adjustment of usual time and date settings. Situated at 8 and 10 o'clock, the other two crowns are specially designed for this timepiece’s GMT hand-setting. Unlike the typical settings controlled by the main crown that only enable the secondary GMT hand to move forward (sometimes in a full round) to the ideal time-zone, the exquisite GMT settings adjusted by the other crowns allow the user to move the GMT hour (red-arrow) hand bi-directionally in one-hour increments. This rare function is reminiscent of timepieces from the likes of Haute-horology and Patek Philippe Pilot Calatrava Travel Time. Created by Ball Watches themselves, the avant-garde module built into this timepiece allows for easy quick-setting of local time while preventing any accidental adjustments to the other GMT settings.

Underneath a domed sapphire crystal lies a sporty matte black dial. It gets a total of 27 proprietary self-powered micro-gas tubes applied on its dial, bezel and hour, minute as well as second hands, that enable a seamless night-reading experience. Manufactured by innovative Swiss laser technology, these gas tubes are up to 100 times brighter than luminescent paints commonly used in the watch industry. These gas tubes have a lifespan of over 25 years and do not require an external energy source to function.
The baton shaped micro-gas tubes in the Marine GMT Black emits a yellow glow while three uniquely oversized Arabic numerals located at its cardinal points glow green, thereby allowing for excellent legibility under any light conditions. This watch also has an angled rehaut and 24 hour markers accentuated with red lines that enable users to track a maximum of three time-zones concurrently.

The Marine GMT Black is powered by Ball's RR1203-C movement which has an impressive 40-hour power reserve. Built on top of this ETA-based movement is an in-house module which allows for efficient GMT settings and is chronometer-certified by COSCGMT. Coupled with its anti-magnetic (to 4,800A/m) and water-resistant (up to 200m) properties, this watch is capable of enduring some of the harshest conditions.
This watch comes on a slim 20mm titanium bracelet that tapers down towards its folding clasp, gracing the Marine GMT Black with the signature elegance of a Roadmaster timepiece. This bracelet is mainly satin-brushed except for its sides and center link which are polished. Solid-built. The Marine GMT Black embodies this trait with its versatile travel watch design and effective functionality.
