The Seiko Prospex 200M Automatic Transocean Black Ref. SBDC039 is powered by Seiko's automatic caliber, 6R15, operating at 21,600 BPH (3 Hertzs) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 23 jewels with a power reserve of 50 hours through a Spron 510 mainspring.
Seiko features the Transocean Black with a unique black dial in this model. It has a deep black dial with wave pattern embossed into it. It comes with polished applied indexes. One of those watches that has to be seen in person to enjoy the beauty.
|Well made and finished case. Polished sides satin brushed top.|
The unique 45mm case is made from stainless steel. With high polished sides and fine satin brushed on top, the watch exudes class. The 200m water resistant case is treated with Seiko’s DiaShield coating on the case and bracelet. This provide scratch-protection and extra corrosion resistance. While it does not make the watch scratch resistant like Dievas and Damasko, it does reduce scratches and scuffs significantly. THe most unique feature of the Transocean is probably the solid monobloc ceramic bezel that has it's markings lasered into the bezel. The advantage of ceramic is of course its toughness and scratch resistant properties. The bezel is slightly raised and protects the sapphire crystal and is easy to grip where the bracelet isn't raised. Did we also mention that the sapphire crysta is anti-reflective treated for extra clarity?

The dial's makers and hands are treated with generous amount of Seiko's Lumibrite for awesome low light visibility.
The design of the steel bracelet compliments the watch beautifully, with a seemless look and feel. The Transocean is is quite a worthy contender in it's price range.
