STEINHART has done it again with a more personalized approach to their timepieces. Since the Ocean One Silver DLC and the newer Ocean One Vintage DLC black-out versions, making their iconic watches more personalized and with an edgier style.

The all-black take on the new STEINHART Ocean One Vintage Chronograph DLC gets this latest treatment; by having a full matte black-out theme for its retro-vintage chronograph.
The case, bracelet and even the dial are treated to silver; made from 316L stainless steel which is micro-blasted for a non-shiny finish and then DLC(diamond-like carbon) treated. The blackened crown and pushers further enhance the overall stealth looks.
The most striking feature of the STEINHART Ocean One Vintage Chronograph DLC is probably its tri-color dial. In watch terms, we call vintage-inspired dial a “tropical” one. It is further tweaked by STEINHART to a more contemporary form, playing on a different inspiration.

The main dial is finished with vertical brushings in dark silver metallic with contrasting matte black subdials that is snailed creating a sense of depth. The outter ring is enriched with fine, red accents. Further, a beautiful vintage touch would be having the dial surmounted by a box-shaped, high domed sapphire crystal with double layers of anti-reflective coating on its inside.
Framed in this breathtaking sight by a black aluminum inlay with tachymeter scale, which is used in conjunction with the chronograph complication, completes the full black-out theme.
The STEINHART Ocean One Vintage Chronograph DLC is powered by the Dubois Dépraz DD 2020, a Swiss automatic movement which is based on the decorated ETA 2824-2 TOP with its gilded STEINHART rotor, which can all be admired through the sapphire crystal window in the screw-down black DLC case back. Also screwed down is the large, well gripping crown with its discreet red accent as well as the two pushers, which allows for water resistance of up to 10 ATM.

Irrespective of these technical highlights, the look of this chronograph with its all-black stainless steel case radiates the irresistible modern flair of the wild 60s, a welcome addition of a contemporary visual identity that sets it apart from the other chronographs. Whether you wear the STEINHART Ocean One Vintage Chronograph DLC on the full black-out bracelet, that tapers down to 18mm towards the folding buckle, or on leather or synthetic watch strap, the sporty charm of this watch will be difficult to resist.
