Glycine is carrying the trends for the yesteryears, the Combat SUB 42 Gold Ref. GL0186 takes to another level of luxury, bearing a 316L stainless steel case with PVD yellow gold treated case and bezel. It measures at 42mm and 10.6mm thin for unsurpassed comfort on all wrist sizes. The short lugs to lugs length of 49.5mm together with the unique downward curving lugs meant the watch wraps around the wrist like a pair of gloves.

What are good looks without performance? The large screw-down crown is easy to grip, and screws in and out without any sense of roughness in the screw threads contributed mostly by the larger than usual screw tube.
Entirely hand finished and Made in Switzerland, the watch is done in a luxury gold PVD finishing with satin brushed on the top, and high polished on the sides to a very high standard, again synonymous with Glycine. The 60 clicks unidirectional rotating bezel clicks positively in place with little play for added confidence. The yellow gold PVD bezel and crown against the steel PVD case enhanced the watch a sort of mysterious luxury. The Combat Sub is water resistant to a modest 200m.

The Combat comes with a sapphire crystal with three layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside for added clarity under different lighting conditions.
The sports luxury theme continues onto the dial. The two-tone black and gold dial is appropriate here with an index which are encapsulated by the maxi style. And a gold tone railway track that runs around the edge of the dial. The hour markers filled with the right amount of C1 SuperLuminova for superb glow-in-the-dark. The Glycine signature hands are made in matching gold and filled with matching C1 SuperLuminova.
It is powered by a Glycine GL224 movement which is essentially an ETA2824-2, operating at 28,800 bph (4 Hertz) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 38 hours.

The Combat Sub comes with a Glycine signed black fabric-style calf leather strap and matching buckle.
