Yema, an unsuspecting name coined by Henry Louis Belmont during a school contest back in his teenage years, goes on to attain a massive following throughout its 72 years of watchmaking. Graduating at the top of his class in the National Watchmaking School of Besançon, Belmont lives up to his title with exquisite timepieces that are out of this world, literally, when the Yema Spationaute flew to space on astronaut Jean-Loup Chrétien’s wrist.
With a strong connection to 70s French watchmaking and the rich history of aviation, the Yema Flygraf has been a core aviation-oriented model of Yema that delivers an attractive tool-like appeal and substantial mechanical performance. Today, Yema has announced a phenomenal collector’s limited edition model built and designed jointly with the French Air & Space Force specifically for fighter jet pilots, a groundbreaking release capturing the proud mark of the French Air & Space Force, ready for some thrilling piloting action.

Engraved seamlessly onto the case back of this pilot watch, the French Air & Space Force crest proudly claims its place at the back of this phenomenal timepiece, beautifully embossed with a hydraulic press with an engraving of a unique serial number (from 001 to 500) as a mark of exclusivity to this collector’s model. The sporty matte navy blue dial of this timepiece is what makes it stand out. Flaunting an inner 24-hour scale in white that allows for excellent legibility in the dark, this military-inspired vertically-brushed dial is reminiscent of the texture of formidable Boeing military aircraft fuselages in the 1940s. The dial displays the French & Space Force logo in a striking red font at the 6 o’clock position complementing the red GMT hand, a detail allowing it to stand out from the standard model. To complete the military look of this dial, the French watchmaker includes an aviation-style handset that mirrors those found in aircraft cockpit navigation instruments which graces this watch with a professional sleek look.
