Alpina is a Swiss watch manufacturer (together with it’s sister brand; Frederique Constant) that offers value packed swiss made sports watches for watch enthusiasts. At Baselworld 2018 Alpina has upgraded its current automatic dive range, the Seastrong Diver 300 ( in different bezel colourways) with an additional GMT function.

Following their new Startimer Pilot Heritage GMTs, the new Alpina Seastrong Diver GMT bears it’s precursor cushion shaped case at 44mm, that ensures water resistant up to 300m/1000ft. The 316L stainless steel case and bezel is treated with Titanium PVD coating that gives it a more tactical look. Aesthetics aside, the extra treatment gives the Diver GMT a better scratch resistance.

Further, the design kept the same dial design cues, providing optimal dive time readability, with some minor ingenious tweaks. First, they added an additional central GMT hand, allowing users to read the second-time zone easily. Second, which we feel was quite intuitive, is that instead of changing the usual dive watch markers on the bezel to a 24 hour format, Alpina made the internal rehaut a GMT while still keeping it’s diver style watch bezel.

Another main difference is where the Seastrong GMT comes with it’s AL-247 GMT quartz caliber. The movement allows the watch to set the GMT hand independently. Moreover, with a battery life of 25 months, it makes a more hassle-free experience for the user, while allowing the watch to be more friendly in price as well.

As standard the watch is equipped with a Alpina signed rubber strap made specially for the Seastrong 300.

In all new Seastrong 300 Diver GMT is a good traveling companion which allows user to track two different time-zones, while still able to bring it for any sports activities at ease.
