This is an extraordinarily strong watch which can be used for many purposes, more so on account of its 4-mm-thick sapphire glass and especially impact-resistant automatic movement. The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer is undergoing long-term testing on 56 rescue cruisers belonging to the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger [German society for rescuing those shipwrecked].

The Muhle Glashutte Search and Rescue (SAR) comes with either a soft comfortable rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet with rubber centre links. The Muhle SAR has a rubber bezel. The signed screwdown crown is set at 4 O'clock to maximise wearing comfort. So the crown does not dig into the back of your wrist. The watch comes with a date magnifier seen only on Muhle Glashutte watches. The date magnifier is on the inside of the crystal. This ensures there is no unsightly bulge to distract the looks of the clean dial.
