Dievas Flieger Timer is the latest addition to the Dievas range of mechanical watches. This watch is a first effort by Dievas to build a flieger that cumulate the highest of product design and advanced engineering that is entirely made in Germany by the finest German factories. These are the factories that manufacture quality watches for other bigger established brands.
The Dievas Flieger Timer drew its inspiration from vintage Luftwaffe Borduhr found onboard the ME262, ME109 and other German fighter planes in the 1960s. Limited to only 50 pieces worldwide, Dievas Flieger Timer is highly sought after by collectors and gives a new meaning to the word Limited Edition. Each watch is individually engraved on the caseback with its unique serial number.
The movement found in the Flieger Timer is the vintage Swiss ETA 2452 automatic movement which dates back to the 1960s. This movement utilized in many iconic watches of the time, enlisted into the portfolios of certain world renown movements manufacturers, has a rather cherry history to tell on its own. This particular batch of rare vintage movement is completely unassembled, cleaned and regulated by our master watchmaker. Unlike modern movement, the 18,000bps movement ticks away leisurely at its own pace, a reference to each of our hectic lifestyle that sometimes we have to take a step back, relax and enjoy the subtle quality of life. An assuring reminder more so than often.
The clear, simple utilitarian matt black dial, red hands filled with vintage blue luminous brings nostalgic vintage aura to its appearance while a central sweeping red second hand, a distinct signature of this particular flieger, slowly ticks away. The dial is printed by an old German dial manufacturer using vintage techniques for that added touch.
The original Luftwaffe Borduhr was a cockpit clock and as such it does not have a watch case. But if they were to make a case of it, this will be it. The watch case is made in Germany by one of the best case manufacturer in Germany. The 42.5mm 316L stainless steel case is milled and further hand finished by our master watchmaker. Watch case is finally satin brushed throughout.
The tight bi-directional elapsed time bezel has a luminous triangle at 12 to aid the pilot in flight planning duties quickly. The strap is secured to the case using screw bars. The watch wears bigger than it suggests due to the large and robust lugs extending to 53mm. Although the case is big, the curved lugs allow the watch to wrap around the wrist like a pair of gloves. The flat domed sapphire crystal is resistant to scratches and so is the sapphire display back. The serial numbered display back allows the owner to admire the rare movement at work.
The Dievas Flieger Timer comes with Dievas Premium handmade leather strap which is serially numbered on the underside of the strap and on the topside of the strap keeper. Additionally the watch comes with your choice of Dievas 4mm leather strap. The Dievas signed 316L stainless steel buckle completes the entire watch.
All packed in a Dievas serial numbered wooden box lined with leather. Also included is a screwdriver for strap change. Complete with papers, hang tag and 1 year Dievas international guarantee.
